A Bridge To Better
A Bridge To Better is a community of leaders, educators, parents, colleagues and other change agents who are learning, sharing, and collaborating to courageously co-create the conditions for social and racial justice. We are committed to taking wise and compassionate action on the road to transforming ourselves and society.

Hello and welcome to A Bridge To Better community!
We are the Maldonado family - Roberto, Michelle and Trey. We are glad to be in conversation, transformation and action with all of you at this time in our nation's and our world's history.
Our family created the Open Letter to Humanity and Resource Guide out of love and compassion. Like many of you, we have been experiencing the range of emotions related to the social and racial injustices that have been present for centuries, but culminated again most recently with the killing of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd in the U.S. We felt called to do something rather than sit in sadness, anger and anguish. We chose to turn to hope, promise and wise action. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work. The starting point is the Guide available on this webpage.
The Guide is not enough, but it's a good place to start. It is our hope that the Guide's compilation of inquiries, reflections, resources and calls to action inspire others to do their inner work, emerging in a way that allows each of us to meaningfully (re)connect with one another, fuel profound transformation and create positive impact for a better world.
We hope that you'll join in the conversation and action-taking and that you'll share your experiences here so that we each can learn from and support one another on this journey. Will it be difficult? Yes. But, it most certainly will be worth it.
With love, hope and wise action from our family to yours,
A Boomer, A Gen Xer and A Gen Zer

ACTION & INVOLVEMENT
What Happens to One of Us, Happens to All of Us
Self, Family & Community
-
Starting with "Self" is key. Take good self-care througout all of this. Do the work, be the work and then share the work.
-
Explore the A Bridge To Better Guide with your family and identify common beliefs and values and how they impact the family unit. Choose two actions to take as a family.
-
Create a community group to discuss the A Better Bridge Guide and choose three actions to take across your community.

Organizations & Schools
-
What would our schools and places of work look and feel like if we showed up with more awakened presence and purposeful intention? How would colleagues, co-workers, students and others flourish differently?
-
An invitation for you is to find out. Bring the guide into school systems, government, church, non-profit and corporate organizations to discuss, discover, learn and then take actions to implement positive, sustainable change.
-
Example: Form a working group, conduct workshops and brown bag luncheons to explore pieces of the Guide. Then decide which action to take (e.g., transform hiring, retention, talent development, sales & marketing and other practices.)
